Staples Center, home of the NBA Los Angeles Lakers is one of the most renowned sports centers in the world. Retop replaced the old Daktronics system and installed one of the highest definition black scoreboards in the NBA.
The main board consists of four SMD screens with a 6mm pixel pitch. Retop revolutionized NBA video boards with its black SMD packaging technology by doubling the contrast ratio. Retop’s black SMD provides ultra brightness and enables the board to achieve more than 2,000 Nits brightness.
Four other 10mm LED video boards keep fans updated and glued to the action with the latest information on team status, scores and game clock. The boards are all video feed-capable with programming that appears seamlessly across all eight screens. Two 16mm LED “Halos” display graphics and game info and encircle both the top and bottom of the system.
